Business Email for Small Manufacturers & Wholesalers
B2B buyers expect sales@ and logistics@ on your domain — not a Yahoo inbox.
Part of the collection Business email, industry by industry
Purchase orders and RFQs go to inboxes procurement teams save. If you are not on a professional domain, you are not on the shortlist.
Addresses procurement teams expect
- sales@ or quotes@ — RFQs and price requests
- orders@ — purchase orders and confirmations
- logistics@ or shipping@ — delivery dates, tracking and customs documents
- accounts@ — invoices and remittances
- quality@ — certificates, non-conformance reports and product questions
Why it affects whether you are shortlisted
Buyers adding a new supplier usually check that the company is real: website, registered address and an email domain that matches. A free webmail address on a quote makes that check harder and can be flagged by the buyer’s own security filters. Role addresses on your domain also mean a purchase order does not get lost when a salesperson is away.
Protect payments from invoice fraud
- Publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC for your domain so others cannot easily send invoices as you
- Tell customers in writing that your bank details will not change by email
- Confirm any supplier request to change their bank details by phone, using a number you already hold
- Keep accounts@ on a small number of people and remove access when they leave
