Stripe Receipts + Custom Domain Email: Present a Unified Brand
Align Stripe emails with your domain strategy — customer-facing finance communication.
Stripe sends receipts from Stripe — you still need billing@ for questions and dunning. One brand voice across money touchpoints.

Make Stripe emails match your brand
In Stripe’s settings you can add your branding to customer emails and set the support email address shown in them. Stripe also offers a way to send customer emails from your own domain, which involves adding DNS records it gives you. Follow Stripe’s current instructions, and if it asks for an SPF change, merge it into your existing SPF record rather than adding a second one.
Give billing questions a home
- Create a billing@ mailbox and set it as the support address in Stripe
- Send your own billing mail through your API key with Reply-To set to billing@
- Use a subject line pattern customers can search, such as “Receipt from [Company] #1234”
- Tell customers you will never ask them to pay into a new bank account by email
