OquMail vs Hostinger Email: Free Mailboxes vs Bundled Hosting Mail
OquMail vs Hostinger email compared: bundled hosting mailboxes and Titan business email vs a free plan with 15 mailboxes, IMAP, DNS guidance and a send API.
Hostinger customers get email in two forms: mailboxes bundled with the hosting plan, and a separate business email product powered by Titan. OquMail is a free business email host that works with a Hostinger domain and website without touching them. Here is how the three options compare.
Quick summary
- Mailboxes: Hostinger a small number bundled with hosting or paid per mailbox for Titan; OquMail up to 15 free
- Free plan: Hostinger email free only with a paid hosting plan; OquMail free with 3 domains and 5 GB per mailbox
- API: Hostinger and Titan none; OquMail send API with Bearer keys
- DNS guidance: Hostinger automatic when the domain uses its nameservers; OquMail shows MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC and verifies them live
- IMAP/SMTP: all support standard clients
Who each is for
Hostinger bundled email is for a site that needs a contact address and little else. Hostinger business email (Titan) is for a small team that wants a polished client with scheduling and reminders at a per-mailbox price. OquMail is for a team that wants more mailboxes, more storage per mailbox and a send API for free while keeping the site on Hostinger.

Where Hostinger email wins
- Zero DNS work when the domain and site are on Hostinger nameservers
- One hPanel login for website, domain and mail
- Titan business email adds read receipts, send later and templates
- Bundled mailboxes cost nothing extra on a hosting plan you already pay for
Where OquMail wins
- 15 mailboxes with 5 GB each instead of a few 1 GB boxes
- Three domains on one free account
- Dedicated mail infrastructure rather than a shared hosting server's reputation
- Send API and per-message delivery logs for the site's order emails
Total cost at 5 and 15 users
Bundled Hostinger email at 5 users is free if the plan includes enough mailboxes, but 1 GB each fills fast. Titan business email at 5 users is a small monthly amount and at 15 users is 15 per-mailbox subscriptions. OquMail is free at both sizes. The comparison usually comes down to whether 1 GB mailboxes on a shared server are good enough for your team's daily mail.
The free third option: OquMail
Switching keeps the website exactly where it is. In hPanel's DNS zone editor, replace the MX records (the settings that tell the internet where to deliver email for your domain) with OquMail's, add SPF, DKIM and DMARC as TXT records, and press Check DNS in the OquMail dashboard. Remove Hostinger's old MX so mail does not split between hosts.
- Free plan: up to 15 mailboxes, 3 domains, 5 GB per mailbox, no credit card
- Webmail included; IMAP/SMTP for Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird and phones
- IMAP mail.oqumail.com port 993 (SSL/TLS); SMTP mail.oqumail.com port 587 (STARTTLS)
- Guided SPF, DKIM and DMARC with live DNS verification; MX is mail.oqumail.com priority 10
- Transactional send API at https://api.oqumail.com/api/v1/emails with Bearer API keys (from, to, subject, html)
- Per-message delivery logs so you can see the exact response a receiving server gave
Verdict by scenario
- One-person website that needs contact@ and nothing else: Hostinger bundled email
- Small sales team that wants scheduling and reminders in the client: Hostinger business email (Titan)
- Team of up to 15 that needs storage, several domains and an API: OquMail
- Store on Hostinger that sends order confirmations: OquMail for mailboxes and API
Common questions
Will changing MX break my Hostinger website?
No. The A record and website are untouched. Only MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC change, which affect email alone.
Can I keep some mailboxes on Hostinger and some on OquMail?
Not on the same domain, because MX points inbound mail to one host. Move the whole domain, or put a second domain or subdomain on OquMail.
Is Hostinger bundled email good for deliverability?
It shares server reputation with other hosted sites, which can hurt inbox placement. A dedicated mail host with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set correctly is safer for business mail.
What if my domain is registered at Hostinger but the site is elsewhere?
Nothing changes. DNS is edited wherever the nameservers point, which is usually Hostinger's DNS zone editor if you bought the domain there. Add OquMail's MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records in that editor and leave the A record for the website alone.
